1. You can start a business. But you can't work or spend time on it. Just spend money and some one can run it. Silent owner.
2. Same applicable for H4.
If you have EAD, H1 & H4 can work in your own business and work in current H1.
H1 & H4 (without EAD) forget about starting business and sit in your own company/shop/gas station etc.... & MAKE MONEY. This is the fact.
Question: Can person A on an H1B start own business while continuing to work with current H1B job? Can the business be not related to ones profession? Can a person on H4 visa start his won business too? Any answer is appreciated!

Hi All,
My wife is on H1 since Oct 2009. No paystubs. Now she want to come back on H4. Her H4 stamping expired. I have my H1 renewed in Oct 2009 and need stamping.
What are the best and low risk options to convert to H4 status. Please advice

She most likely is out-of-status for a long time (more than 6 months). Also she started/would start accruing illegal/unlawful presence from the day her I-94 expired/expires. Talk to a lawyer before doing anything.

Guys ,
Here is my situation. greatly aprecite if you could give some suggestions.
I am presently on Non-cap H1b(which is not counted under cap). I am planning to file for H1b thru an employer in april under MS quota with a start date of octber 2008.
My concerns are...
1. How should the new employer file H1b so that I can join at my wish after oct 2008...??
2. My present H1b is valid untill 2010. SHould I be in US while filing and untill my new H1b is approved..??? I ahve plans of visisitng india in March/aprial. So wondering If i need to visit and be back before april or is it ok to travel while my new H1b is filed using the presnet i-94..?? that is trvelling sometime In april/May..???

Is it from receipt date based on receipt notice OR filing date( actual date when USCIS received your 485 package)?
Its the USCIS receipt date . July 2 flyers started already countung days to use AC 21\\\\\\Also close the thread as some one already discusiing the same issue

Hi,
My OPT was approved and I received the approval notice. But the card itself
has been lost in mail. I have applied for a replacement card.
I am aware of something called the "I-9 receipt rule" wherein the receipt for
the replacement of a lost document can be used in place of the document itself
for a period of 90 days.
Does this apply to my case? In other words, can I use the receipt of the replacement
request to work for upto 90 days?

I am not anti-Sigma either, but I do not believe anything the produce from a digital body perspective (no pun intended) is going to influence, or drive down Canon or Nikon pro body prices. Build quality and other features keep the C and N scads ahead.
