    I think more than 90% of companies in service industries have more than 50% emps in H1/L1. The fees may be indirectly passed to the employees in terms of cut in salary or cut in profit sharing.

    Anyone knows whether there is any fee increase for premium processing?

    The calculations below is not to scare anyone but it may very well a reality. Based on the assumptions below, some people may have to wait up to 20 months to get a EAD card: Ouch!

    I would encourage that IV should compile cases of members who have been denied home loans because of their immigration status and present them to the president. Housing industry is in a crisis and they are denying loans to people with solid income????

    The labor certification submitted in support of your petition indicates that the minimum education requirement is "bachelor's degree in computer science, compluter Applications, Computer Information Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Mathematcis, Physics or its foriegn Education Equivalent".It is noted that the beneficiary received a 3 year bachelor's degree in Mathementics.

    However, the term "euivalent" is not defined. Please provide documentary evidence to establish the definition of "equivalent" as it was defined in your labor certification process. Such evidence may include , but is not limited to, a statement from the dol explaining the interpretation of the term as certified, copies of the petioner's recruitment documentation and/or evidence that no U.S. applicant's for the position who posses the same or similar qualification as the beneficiary wer disqualified from selection

    Ad hominem arguments and irate calls to close the thread do not go a long way in proving your point (as much as I can make out there is one in the first place)

    You seem to be a guy from north India who dislikes anything remotely connected to south, or probably you are envious of the strides that south India has taken, anyways I do not care what YOU or Wadhwa says about the quality of education in some parts of the world.

    I do not know how this discussion is going to help our cause.

    I got a home loan last year through SunTrust on EAD without any issues. You would need to provide more documentation such as I-140 approval, I-1488 receipt copies. :)

    Its all politics my dear. Dont take the votes as it is. All these are eyewash and most of it were decided even before they vote. Why you think they have minority and majoirty leader. Those are the key people along with certain key senators / congressmens.

    Election is the major event which affects everyone in the senate or congress. First eveyone wants to please their constituents and win and retain their seat. This is the first and foremost priority than passing the SKIL bill at this time. Be practical and I myself will do the same if I were a politician.

    My suggestion for everyone reading this is - do not send this information to your Company or HR department. They could ask us to table this additional cost. I work for Accenture so I hope that this does not apply to my employer with less than 50% employees on visa. But I'm not going to write to them asking about this because they may turn around asking us to eat this new cost.

    How about you? Has anyone contacted their employer already? What are they saying?

    Most of the Indian companies (TCS, Wipro, Infy, etc) have more than 50% H1Bs, I believe.

    I think most of the guys n gals will be busy with their paper work for I-485, 765 and 131. I am guessing once the dust settles most of them will come back and contribute generously.

    I know most of you know the magnitude of impact IV has in the decision of the reversal of July 2nd update.I am in my 8th year of H1B and I wish IV has arrived 2 to 3 years back, but I am happy better late than never.

    Thank you IV and I very much appreciate you keeping the cool when people started second guessing after the AILA update that the situation is 'Fluid'.

    This is a really good site that shows the trends for everything (PERM, H1 transfer etc). Although the accuracy depends on the number of people who add their cases, it was almost exact to the day for my H1 transfer.

    I think for legals, uptill now, it is just they will remove the cap from EB numbers for Schedule A workers ie. nurses etc.

    Arrived to USA on October 1999 at H1B. Started the green card in 2000 under EB2 but due to dot com burst changed the Job. Started again GC under EB3 in 2002 but the attorney and the company took one year to file the paper to USCIS.
